The Public Health Science Doctoral Study Program (PSD IKM) was established in 2015 with establishment decree number 1085/A4/HK/2015 dated 31 December 2015 which was signed by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. The implementation of the Study Program was first carried out on December 31 2015. The Public Health Doctoral Study Program was first accredited by the Independent Accreditation Institute for Indonesian Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes) in 2018. After that, it was reaccredited again based on Decree Number 0340/LAM -PTKes/Akr/Dok/XI/2020 concerning the Status, Ranking and Accreditation Results of Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education, the Public Health Doctoral Study Program received an A rating.

The Public Health Doctoral Study Program provides education and continues to strive to provide the best service for students. The study program shows its commitment to continue developing institutions in accordance with the needs of the job market and advances in science and technology which are currently growing very rapidly. Therefore, the study program focuses more on services to produce quality educational products in line with the vision, mission, goals and objectives of the study program.

The Hasanuddin University Public Health Doctoral Study Program (PSD-IKM Unhas) is one of the Doctoral Study Programs managed by the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Public Health since 2014 in accordance with the mandate letter of the Ministry of Research and Technology No. 65/E.E2/DT/2014 and Establishment Decree since 2015 No. 151/KPT/1/2015. Therefore, PSD-IKM as a Study Program at State Universities (PTN) with Legal Entity status (PTN-BH) has a governance system that refers to the Hasanuddin University Chancellor’s Regulations on Organization and Work Procedures (OTK) for Faculties and Schools Number 14/UN4.1/2018. Management of the Study Program refers to the Hasanuddin University Chancellor’s Regulation concerning the Implementation of the Hasanuddin University Doctoral Program Number 2785/UN4.1/KEP/2018.

To carry out the duties of the Study Program in carrying out educational and learning activities as well as research, the Dean of the Faculty of Public Health has appointed a Head of the Study Program (KPS) as the person responsible for managing PSD-IKM who has criteria that are in accordance with the role of KPS as stated in Hasanuddin University Chancellor’s Decree No. 13/UN4.1/2018 concerning Organization and Work Procedures of Hasanuddin University Faculties and Schools. Furthermore, in managing PSD-IKM, KPS coordinates with the Deputy Dean for Academic, Research and Innovation in developing curriculum, strategic plans and other policies at the Study Program level to produce the expected educational output and learning. To develop study program funding, KPS coordinates with the Deputy Dean for Planning, Finance and Resources in terms of financial management.
