The Unhas PSD-IKM vision describes the ideal conditions that the entire academic community wants to realize in the future. The formulation of the PSD-IKM vision is:

“To become a Center for the Development of Science, Technology and Arts for Public Health that is research-based and capable of competing globally based on the Indonesian Maritime Continent by 2025”

In the formulation of the PSD-IKM Vision above, it emphasizes 4 phrases, namely capable of competing, center for the development of science and technology, research-based, and based on the Indonesian Maritime Continent. The first phrase stated;

• PSD-IKM is the Center for Public Health Science and Technology Development refers to emphasizing the function and objectives of study programs in the development of science and technology for public health in accordance with the objectives of higher education in Republic of Indonesia Law no. 12 of 2012). The words “development center” also contain the meaning of motivation for the academic community to continue to develop innovation, creation, skills, competitiveness and cooperation in the fields of science and knowledge.
• Research-Based PSD-IKM characterizes PSD-IKM as being actively involved in inter-multi-transdisciplinary research activities and being responsible for the results.
• PSD-IKM Able to compete has the meaning of the potential and abilities possessed in contributing to the development of science globally by actively participating in reputable publications and participating in various national and international seminars and conferences that support the development of public health science.
• PSD-IKM which is based on the Indonesian Maritime Continent has a meaning that is closely related to the character of maritime culture in Indonesia. The words “Indonesian Maritime Continent” refer to the vision and mission of Hasanuddin University which describes the geographical conditions of Unhas which is located in a location that has a strong maritime cultural background. Thus, the embodiment of the words “Indonesian Maritime Continent” in PSD-IKM’s vision and mission is a form of PSD-IKM’s commitment to be involved in developing maritime culture in Indonesia from a public health science perspective. So, the study program can make a real contribution to the maritime development program.
